The Secretary of Environment and Natural Resources, Rafael Pacchiano Alamán, inaugurated the Second National Meeting of “Climate Change Response”, an event organized by the National Institute of Ecology and Climate Change (INECC) in which it seeks to build a multidisciplinary dialogue to learn about the different actions, success stories and innovative projects that are carried out in our country to be able to face the impacts derived from this global climatic phenomenon.

From November 27 to December 1, experts in the field will offer conferences, lectures, discussion panels and information talks in a space for reflection and exchange of experiences and knowledge.

The main topic of the meeting is innovation in science and technology and its relationship with air quality, adaptation, mitigation of climate change, and the development of a green economy.

The head of SEMARNAT reiterated that climate change is a major threat to humanity and, therefore, its combat must be a priority for the administration of President Enrique Peña Nieto.

That is why in the last COP23, in Bonn, Germany, our country promoted compliance with the Paris Agreement and expressed the need to increase climate responsible policies and actions.

Rafael Pacchiano concluded: “this meeting, which works began a year ago, will help us to know where we are, what risks we face, what we are doing and what else we can do to face this problem in the best possible way.”
