The Office of the Attorney General of the Republic (PGR) reported on December 3rd, that through the Criminal Investigation Agency (AIC), Fabricio “N” was captured in Mexicali, Baja California, he was arrested for the crime of illegal deprivation of liberty and aggravated robbery of Mariano Soto Cortés, a journalist.
The PGR said that the capture was made in response to the request of the Special Prosecutor for the Attention of Crimes Committed against Freedom of Expression (Feadle) and in strict adherence to due process, so that at all times the rights of the suspect were respected.
In a statement, the PGR said that Fabricio “N” is considered the person responsible for kidnapping a journalist in the state of Baja California last February.
The PGR explained that the accused was captured in the municipality of Mexicali, Baja California, without making use of violence or affecting third parties, thanks to the efficient field work carried out by the criminal investigation agents who managed to find his location.
“The arrest of Fabricio “N”, who was immediately placed under custody of the judicial authority, was made in strict adherence to due process and his rights were respected at all times”, the PGR concluded.
