At the end of January, the Mexicali City Council approved the rental of 40 garbage collection units and in mid-February the tender was awarded to the company Integradora de Apoyo Municipal, which will receive just over 35 million pesos from the public treasury for the rental of the trucks .
This Thursday March 15, mayor Gustavo Sanchez informed that for the month of April they wait for the arrival of the first remittance of the rented trucks, in the first delivery they could receive between 15 and 20 units, same that will be distributed to operate in all the municipality including San Felipe and the Valley.
“The idea is that in April the first shipment of the trucks will be arriving, of the 40 that will be coming to work in Mexicali, we hope that the service will have a significant improvement”, He also clarified that the trucks will not be exclusively for the city, “The units will be providing service in the Valley and in San Felipe as well,” he said.
The mayor remarked that despite the deficiencies and the lack of units, Mexicali is the only city in the state where garbage is collected twice a week.
