MEXICO CITY.- Banorte and Mastercard, together with Amazon, launched the debit card ‘Amazon Recargable‘ in the Mexican market, which is avaialable already on the Amazon’s website.
The new credit card is free, without monthly fees or minimum balance, allows purchases inside and outside Mexico, cash transfers through Mobile Banking, as well as deposit or withdraw cash in the corresponding ATM networks, according to Mexican newspaper El Financiero.
When announcing the new financial offer, the general director of Payment Methods of Banorte, Manuel Romo, explained that with products such as Amazon Recargable, the institution takes a new step in the new generation of digital banking.
Amazon Mexico Product Manager, Fernando Ramírez, explained that customers who do not have a credit or debit card will find Amazon Recargable an easy and practical way to convert their cash into a payment method to access electronic commerce and other online services.
To obtain the card, which can be recharged in more than 25,000 establishments, such as Oxxo and 7-Eleven (just to name a couple), customers must be Mexican residents, over 18 years of age and upon request they must fill out a personal data form with their name, date of birth, nationality and gender.
After approval, the authorization process takes three minutes, the user will obtain a virtual card number that can be used to deposit money and start making purchases, while they receive the plastic (which does not have any extra cost), and the user must deposit at least 500 pesos in their new account.
