MAZATLÁN, SIN. – Monday, April 16, 2018.- In the framework of the start of the national tourism fair “Tianguis Turístico”, which takes place in the city of Mazatlan, Sinaloa, Governor Francisco Vega de Lamadrid, talked about the importance of continuing to promote Tourism in BC, during its participation in the Meeting of the Executive Commission of Tourism of the National Conference of Governors (CONAGO).
In the presence of 12 state leaders and the Federal Secretary of Tourism, Governor Vega de Lamadrid highlighted the extraordinary moment that the tourist activity in the state is going through. He indicated that during 2017 more than 27 million people traveled through Baja California, which represents an increase of 6.6 percent over 2016, highlighting that these visitors generated in the state a tourist consumption (economic income) greater than 116 billion pesos.
He also said that occupancy in tourist category hotels (3, 4 and 5 stars) was 54.18 percent, an increase of 7 points compared to the previous year, which translates into more than 1.3 million occupied rooms.
