STATE GOVERNMENT TAKES PREVENTION AND CONTROL MEASURES AGAINST BROWN TICK

Monday, April 23, 2018. – As part of the follow-up to the control actions of the dog’s brown tick, which is vector transmitter of the dangerous rickettsia, the Government of the State through the Ministry of Health, went to Fraccionamiento Valle de las Misiones, located in the west side of ​​Mexicali, to carry out prevention work.

Local authorities carried out different activities and actions such as entomological surveys in homes and pets, household spraying, deworming of dogs and the application of the canine / feline antirabies vaccine, in those animals that for some reason were not previously immunized.
 40 blocks (800 houses) of this neighborhood were sprayed with insecticide and a total of 1,396 dogs were dewormed, in order to protect approximately 3,200 citizens that reside in this zone of the state capital.
It is reiterated to residents that these actions taken by the Zoonoses Program are completely free of charge, and the municipal personnel wears an identification badge and uniform.
