Baja California: Sixth place in Mexico’s foreign investment attraction

With 428 million dollars (MD) of Direct Foreign Investment (DFI), during the first quarter of 2018, Baja California is the third place among the border Mexican states attracting investment and the sixth place at a national level, said Carlo Bonfante Olache, Secretary of Economic Development of Baja California and added that this represents 4.5% of the national total and a 90.2% growth compared to the investment attracted the last quarter of 2017 as a result of actions and programs of the State Government led by Francisco Kiko Vega de Lamadrid, coordinated with the diverse State sectors and their competitive strength.

At a National level there was a 9 thousand 502 million dollars DFI which means a 46.5% growth compared to the fourth quarter of 2017, said Bonfante: “. . . .we work in the Economic Development Ministry to attract the most FDI possible according to stablished criteria, we also keep track of investment in order to account for all the national investment in Baja California . . .”
