Wednesday May 30, 2018.- Within the framework of the first anniversary of the Regional Center for Child Development and Early Stimulation (CEREDI), the State Government, through the Ministry of Health, held the “Update and Awareness Day in Child Development”.
The head of the department, Guillermo Trejo Dozal, led the inauguration ceremony with the participation of 250 people, featuring health personnel including phsysicians, psychologysts, college professors, health promoters and social workers, as well as students from related careers.
The purpose of this activity is to raise awareness about the importance of the care of children from the gestation period and during early childhood, through speakers specialized in neurodevelopment, maternal bond, language therapy, nutrition, early stimulation and physical rehabilitation; all of them with outstanding experience in their expertise areas and institutions such as “MOVI”, “TERAPSI”, “TRES BIEN”, “CETYS University” and “ISESALUD”.
The CEREDI staff announced successful experiences in the rehabilitation of children thanks to the multidisciplinary care of specialized health personnel.
The event was assisted by Antonio Rizzoli Córdoba, from the Children’s Hospital of Mexico “Federico Gómez”, who is one of the promoters of the Child Development Strategy and Coordinator of the CEREDI at a national level.
Currently, in the State there are 4,936 children under five years in nutritional control, who are beneficiaries of the PROSPERA Program, of which 1,448 are from the Health Services Jurisdiction of Mexicali, 1,281 from Tijuana that includes Beaches of Rosarito and Tecate; 1,171 of Ensenada and 1,036 of Vicente Guerrero.
The CEREDI is a basic that provides services in the areas of Pediatrics – Medicine, Psychology, Nutrition, Language Therapy, Audiology, Early Stimulation and Social Work.
Specialized services are offered to all children under 5 years of age who are beneficiaries of Seguro Popular, through a referral from their first level physician or second level care specialist.
