Temperatures of about 120º F are expected for this weekend in Mexicali, and Mayor Gustavo Sanchez advised residents to take precautions and avoid exposition to the sun and the heat, the Summer starts this June 21st but this weekend heatwave will last two or three days over 120 degrees.
The CREA Shelter will open its doors June 21st, it’s located in Colonia Guajardo, offering A/C, baths, rehydration, food and an area to rest from 11 o’clock in the morning to 6 o’clock in the afternoon, every day, said Mayor Sanchez.
With his wife, the Family Development System, Margarita Flores and some of his cabinet officers, Sanchez Vazquez said that this will be an unusually hot Summer not only for Mexicali but for all Mexico so he invited all Mexicali residents to report any homeless people they see on the streets or help them get to the shelter in Colonia Guajardo.
