Baja California Electoral Institute condemns violence: Another candidate murdered

Regretfully, violence and death have been part of this year’s electoral process in Mexico, 121 candidates have been murdered, a figure that shows how deep violence has rooted within Mexican political system, and now another candidate called Omar Gomez Lucatero was murdered in Aguililla, in the southcentral State of Michoacán, so Baja California Electoral Institute issued an official statement where the counselors reject all violence and call for a peaceful election day next July 1st.

They said they are convinced that Mexico’s problems must be solved by dialogue and negotiation and that democracy and popular will must prevail over violence, Mexican society must leave their difference behind and surge stronger after July 1st election when “we all must vote and make this a peaceful election, a democratic celebration”.
