[:en]What does it mean to live a passionate life? Does it mean you love your family or job? Does it mean you put happiness first? Does it mean that needs come before wants? Does it mean something bigger than us in control? I hadn’t thought about having passion for the way I live my life for a long time until I met a group of Mexican surfers.

We visited Cabo to get away from the crazy, the busy, and the hectic of our lives. I wanted to get away, have some new experiences, eat great food, drink beer and margaritas, and have time to enjoy my family. I wasn’t looking to think or ponder or learn anything.

My family decided we wanted to learn to surf. I googled surf schools at Cerritos Beach and called a few. Juan, from CRT Surf School, called back first. He told me how he loves to surf and loves to share surfing with others. He said they would guarantee that we would all surf or we wouldn’t pay for the lesson. He ended by saying surfing is my passion and I can’t wait to share my passion with your family. It sounded good, but remember I was in a huge tourist location. Every place we went people asked us to participate in activities, saying “We have the most success fishing”, “We have the best guides”, “We can give you the best experience” – you get the picture. Everyone was the best and everyone loved what they were doing. I wasn’t sure if this was a sales pitch or the way he really felt, but he had called back and so we decided to give surfing a try.
