Baja California State University Campus Ensenada to celebrate Oceanologist Day on May 18th

The Marine Science School of the Baja California State University (UABC), Campus Ensenada, celebrated the 56th Marine Science Week which included several academic, ludic and recreational activities for students, professors, alumni and UABC authorities, such as the school´s 37th Students Congress and the 6th Marine Science and Environment National Congress, activities that will be carried out until May 18th.

Mónica Lacavex Berumen, Ensenada Campus Vice-dean, inaugurated the event and talked about the importance of Marine Science and this celebration which has been taking place since the first Class graduated about half a century ago.

“These activities are the reflection of the collaborative work among all those involved but it also adds efforts which apply to the three majors offered by this school: Oceanology, Environmental Science and Aquaculture Biotechnology”, said Lacavex.

She also explained that the alumni participation is very important for this events success because they have been scattered all over Mexico and the world and that every year they return to their Alma Mater and bring more impact and projection to the event.
