Baja California health authorities isolated a probable case of Coronavirus: There is a yellow alert

A 28 year old woman who traveled to Europe, Mexico City and then to Mexicali, showed some of the so called Coronavirus (COVID 19) and went to a private hospital where she was labeled as a probable case, since the patient had taken a long trip through Europe, which included Italy, one of the countries with confirmed cases of the disease.

Alonso Perez Rico, Health Secretary of Baja California said that the state is now in the international map as a yellow alert, with a “probable case” (not confirmed) and that doesn´t mean that the COVID19 virus is already present in Baja, he didn´t disclose the woman´s name and said that she had been in Italy and 14 days later she had cold symptoms and she so far, assisted respiratory equipment has not been necessary. 

The next step in to keep the State points of entry under surveillance, there are six border crossings with the USA and the sea port of Ensenada, as well as Tijuana´s International Airport, and there is an isolation protocol.

“As this situation grows, we will be promoting more protection n measures, such as the so called social distancing, we ask the people suffering colds or the flu, to avoid going to public spaces, like the church, schools, theaters, etcetera”, said Secretary Perez Rico.  The National Institute of Epidemiologic Registration is the only instance authorized to confirm COVID19 cases, and in two days it will determine if the aforementioned woman is positive to Coronavirus, so anybody having visited China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan, Italy, Iran and Singapore, will be considered probable COVID19 cases
