Two Mexicali Police Department officers died of Atypical Pneumonia

Two police officers serving for Mexicali Police Department (DSPM) passed away this week, due to atypical pneumonia, which is the label authorities place on many people dying this days, it was not confirmed if it was caused by the COVID19 virus, their names were Alfonso Rodríguez with 16 years of service and Santos Gonzalez Ramirez with two years in the Police Department.

Information in several news outlets point out that there are about 22 Mexicali cops presumably infected with the Coronavirus and according to Mexicali PD Director, Maria Elena Andrade the Baja California State University (UABC) will apply free COVUD tests to police officers working in Mexicali, as many as required.

Director Andrade also said that the department will continue keeping track of any COVID19 suspicious case within the corporation and assured that all Mexicali PD officers have been instructed to work following the health protocols, that is wearing face masks, gloves and goggles, as well as having disinfectant gel at hand and to keep distance from other people as much as possible., in order to prevent contagion.
