Marco Antonio del Toro, defense attorney for former governor of Veracruz, Javier Duarte who is being tiraled for multiple criminal charges, and Elba Esther Gordillo, former leader of the teacher’s union SNTE, accused of diversion of funds for millions of dollars, will be in Mexicali invited by Coparmex.
The expert will be an exhibitor in Mexicali next August 24, during the “Tax Fraud and Money Laundering” conference.
Through a press release, Coparmex states that the litigant “stands out for having among his list of clients a number mediatically controversial politicians, which for many people are characters of dubious reputation and which generates a perception of corruption”.
For example, Javier Duarte, who stated on national TV with Televisa’s anchorman Carlos Loret de Mola that he would leave the position of Veracruz Governor to clarify doubts about alleged acts of corruption during his administration and then fled the country becoming a fugitive of the law; who was later found in Guatemala and extradited to Mexic,o is one of Del Toro’s clients.
“Among Del Toro’s clients, there is the mining union leader, Napoleón Gómez Urrutia, accused of diversion of funds for 55 million dollars; the governor of Jalisco Aristoteles Sandoval, accused of using public resources to destabilize opposition municipalities; or the former deputy attorney Víctor Manuel Landeros Arvizu, accused of being involved in cases of pedophilia and child prostitution… just to name a few.”
