More than 500 children from Mexicali were benefited through the “PEP Summer School” where activities on civic education and citizen values were promoted.
From June 29 to August 18, this program was carried out in neighborhoods such as Santa Clara, Baja California, Orizaba, Nationalista, Municipio Libre, Bordo Canal Reforma, Los Milagros, Misión San Diego, San Carlos, Las Reinas, Estrella and Aztecas. The Coordination of Social Care of the State Preventive Police gave informative talks and organized recreational activities for the children.
The program consisted of three sessions in each community where topics such as ABC of Prevention, Basic Prevention Measures were taught and recognitions were granted to children by police agents.
Undersecretary of the State Security System, Cristian Colosio Lule who stressed that these actions strengthened the social proximity of the corporation, as well as promoting citizen denunciation and other preventive schemes.
Colosio Lule thanked the support of more than 200 parents who trusted the corporation to supervise and teach their children through this program that seeks to instill values that strengthen the security of citizens.
At the end of the event, a demonstration of PEP’s K9 Unit was carried out, where the children observed the skills, abilities and performance of the canine agents, who made a demonstration of obedience, jumping, along with with their trainers, and recreated a scene of detention of an offender.
