As a result of promoting the competitive edhges of Baja California, Governor Francisco “Kiki” Vega, announced the expansion plans of Prime Wheel Mexico, which means an investment of 170 million dollars in Tijuana where they manufacture aluminum car wheels, an operation that produces 5 million wheels a year, with a total staff of 4 thousand employees and which yields about 300 million pesos in Federal, State and City taxes.
Governor Vega thanked the company executives for trusting Baja California, especially Tijuana, which goes to show that the State offers attractive opportunities for productive investments since the State has offered excellent work conditions such as labor quality, strategic geographic location and logistics capabilitie
Jaime Carreón, Prime Wheel; Mexico Comptroller said that the company’s growth has been possible because the corporative direction considered Mexico to be the ideal site to invest and also because it has qualified labor in Tijuana and the support that all Government instances have given the company, which he thanked.

Governor Kiko Vega talks about other projects for BC
Governor Vega met with Prime Wheel executives to tell them about the Port El Sauzal 2, in Ensenada, which will allow the arrival of ships to strengthen state and regional trade, and he also said there is considerable advance to sign an agreement with the Communications and Transportation Secretary for the railroad project between El Sauzal and Tecate, which will go through the Shortcut Tijuana Tecate which will make the merchandise transportation to Calexico and the rest of the country a lot faster which was seen in a positive manner by Prime Wheel representatives
De igual forma, señaló que se tienen importantes avances para la firma de un convenio con la Secretaría de Comunicaciones y Transportes (SCT) para el proyecto de la vía ferroviaria El Sauzal-Tecate, la cual a través de la Vía Corta Tijuana-Tecate facilitará el traslado de mercancías a Caléxico y el interior de la República Mexicana, lo cual fue bien visto por los representantes de Prime Wheel de México.
