Man steals car in SLRC sells it in Mexicali and is arrested in possession of drugs

San Luis Río Colorado local police arrested a man who was being investigated for car theft, the man confessed and said that he had sold the stolen vehicle for three thousand pesos to someone in Mexicali, Baja California.

The suspect was arrested on Sunday Feb. 18 as he was trying to jump the fence of an elementary school, located at the junction of Zacatecas Avenue and Sixth Street, around 3:40 pm.

Among his belongings there were several portions of marijuana, divided into 14 wrappings that together weighed 75 grams, as well as 4 wrappings containing metanetamine, weighing 3 grams.

Javier “N”, a resident of Colonia Sonora, in San Luis Rio Colorado, was identified as the individual that stole a 2009 black Saturn SUV, last week at Colonia Del Bosque.

When questioned about the case, the suspect declared he sold the vehicle for 3,000 pesos to someone in Mexicali.

Currently investigation files are still being integrated and the detainee in under custody at a local jail, in San Luis Rio Colorado, Sonora.
