Authorities of Cotuco Mexicali announced that during the last week of April there was great tourist activity in the port of San Felipe, Baja California, having a strong impact on the hotel occupancy of this destination, this due to the gastronomic event “La Vaca es mía” and the” Rally NORRA Mexican 1000 “.
Omar Dipp Núñez, Director of Cotuco Mexicali, announced that the event “La vaca es mía” was took place at the Playa Paraíso resort, where local tourism promoters such as Francisco Sosa and Mario Gamboa, invited the International Cheff Dante Ferrero as special guest.
Ferrero cooked a whole cow with an approximate weight of 320 kilograms on a grill.
Besides, the municipal official informed that the gastronomic event featured around 15 exhibitors, among which the local wine producers and craft beer stood out with their high quality products.
Another of the most important events that attracted the attention of tourists, was the NORRA Mexican 1000 Rally, having as its headquarters the first stage of the rally to the port of San Felipe.
Dipp Núñez, explained that on Sunday April 22 the competitors arrived from Ensenada to San Felipe, and approximately 243 teams spent the night there.
The visit of this group boosted the tourism activity significantly during the weekend, generating a great influx of visitors from Sunday to Monday.
“Hotel occupancy since Friday was 53%, but on Saturday it rose to 83% and for Sunday the hotels and motels of the San Felipe downtown area were 100% occupied,” concluded the director of Cotuco.
