Baja California Sur gets ready for hurricane “Sergio”

Given the proximity of tropical storm Sergio, it is established, for the next 48 hours, surveillance zone from Punta Eugenia to Cabo San Lázaro, on the west coast, and from San Juan Bautista Bay to San Evaristo, in the state of Baja California Sur, reported the National Meteorological Service (SMN).

In a statement, the agency explained that at 07:00 hours, the center of the tropical storm was located 1,590 kilometers west-southwest of Cabo San Lucas, with winds of 110 kilometers per hour, gusts of 140 and displacement to the east- Northeast at 19 kilometers per hour with trajectory towards the Baja California Peninsula.

Meanwhile, the coordination of Civil Protection, will reinforce the containment board of Puerto San Carlos, in the state of Sonora, with the support of the Mexican army and navy.
