During the month of January 2019, 7,691 formal jobs were created in Baja California, registered before the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS).
Just in Mexicali, it was possible to generate 4,718 new jobs, as it is the Municipality with the highest growth in the state last month. Tijuana achieve a figure of 3,764. And Ensenada 1,097. (However, Tecate and Playas de Rosarito lost 116 and 1,766 positions respectively).
This generation of jobs represents a slight recovery of the 20,749 that were lost in December as it is traditional, since year after year the closure of maquiladoras show a strong fall as a consequence of the annual changes in companies.
