With the upcoming start of the cruise ships season next May, the Integral Port Authority (API) of Cabo San Lucas (CSL). Fernando Hoyos Romero stated that during the high season, adding up cruise ships, tenders, yatches and other vessels that come from ports all over the world, around one thousand boats of some type will converge in this port.
“During 2018 there was the arrival of 198 cruises and for 2019 the forecast is 232, this “because the shipping lines are choosing Cabo San Lucas as one of their favorite destinations,” said Hoyos Romero.
However, the arrival of more and more ships increases the need for the port and the terminal to be remodeled, which has not been done in one decade.
According to Arturo Messi, president of the Mexican Association of Companies for the Attention of Tourist Cruises, Cabo San Lucas is the second most important port on the Mexican Pacific coast, with the highest arrivals’ volume.
